Introduction

Hi! My name is Katie, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in Ohio (LISW-S), currently accepting new clients over the age of 18 for individual psychotherapy in the Columbus area, as well as across Ohio & Pennsylvania via telehealth. I have been working in the mental health field since 2005. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Penn State in 2005 and my MSW (Master of Social Work) from Marywood University in 2009. My work experience over the years has focused on providing Cognitive Behavioral & other therapeutic interventions including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to assist in managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns including chronic stress & trauma. I have worked professionally as a therapist since 2009, with much of my work providing therapeutic interventions for more than 10 years for individuals with Autism and other developmental & intellectual disabilities. My current specialization is focused on the use of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma informed modalities to assist in healing from childhood and recent traumatic events and stress. My priorities as a counselor include providing a compassionate and non judgmental space for all. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and have focused much of my 20 year practice on providing an inclusive space based in Anti-Racism & Anti discriminatory values. Please feel free to reach out to ask any questions to see if we may be a good match to work together and to schedule an initial appointment. I am currently able to meet in person in Galena, Ohio and provide telehealth appointments throughout all of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Currently, I am able to accept all insurances noted below in Ohio. I am able to accept self pay and most Optum/United, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, & Medical Mutual plans in Pennsylvania. Please reach out to confirm I am in network with your plan or contact your carrier directly and provide my NPI# (1295317931) to check. I am currently able to bill with several insurance plans only using Headway (https://headway.co/) and can assist with confirming in network/out of network benefits as needed. I work part time as an independent contractor with this billing company which assists therapists (at no cost) to process insurance claims with several carriers, making it easier and more convenient to accept some plans if the use of insurance is desired and/or needed for financial reasons, as is the case for many of us. Headway's rate per sessions are typically somewhat higher for some clients (all depending on your individual plan) than my own rates per hour if billing directly. If you have specific questions about your plan, please reach out to confirm details. Please be aware that billing with all insurances does require us to provide a diagnosis on record to them. I am not currently able to complete disability, FMLA paperwork or Emotional Support Animal letters for new clients. A period of 3-6 months in treatment is encouraged before completing as appropriate. Referral sources can be provided for some providers or organizations to assist if needed sooner. I am not able to accept Medicaid or Medicare plans currently and have applications pending.
