My career as a social worker began in 2002 following a succsessful career in live sports television broadcasting. My life has had many unplanned, positive and difficult transitions; I benefited from all of these changes and they helped me develop in ways I never imagined. I am most passionate working with young adults, male and female, starting out in life navigating their future. I have extensive experience working with women's issues and their health and sexuality across the lifespan and clients with chronic health issues. After a long career in Hospice I can also navigate the most difficult transitions of life. I attended The University of Iowa as an undergraduate and at age 38 I discovered that I wanted to work directly with others in a helping profession. I attended graduate school at The University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration, recently renamed the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. During my full-time graduate work (2002-2004) the School was ranked as the #1 School of Social Work in the the World by U.S. News and World Reports; the School has consistently ranked in the top 5 Schools of Social Work.
