I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience providing individual psychotherapy to adults. My experience includes working with adults in both private practice and community mental health settings. I received my graduate education and training at the University of Southern California and the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. Most recently, I became Board Certified in Telemental Health services through CCE. My area of expertise is helping clients manage their anxiety, including excessive worry and anxious thoughts, through neuroscience-informed interventions. In our weekly sessions, you will learn ways to understand the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and ways to change your reactions to your thoughts to help reduce your feelings of anxiety and depression. We will also explore techniques to help you improve personal relationships, develop more adaptive coping mechanisms, and foster a better understanding of one's self. My style is warm, engaging, and direct. My clients are people with many strengths who recognize that something needs to change in their lives. Whether that means learning to manage emotions more effectively or moving forward on achieving goals, we figure it out together. Almost everyone who comes into my office can benefit from healing old emotional wounds, revamping their self-care, and rebalancing the way they live. My treatment approach varies depending on client need, and can include long-term and short-term solution-focused therapy, traditional insight-oriented talk therapy, and more contemporary mindfulness-based cognitive therapies that integrate the latest neuroscience research and interventions.
