Licensed Psychologist Katherine Crosby Gross, PhD
Specialties: Testing and Evaluation, Parenting, Child or Adolescent, College Mental Health, Life Transitions,

Introduction

I am a licensed psychologist with extensive experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. I received both my master's degree in professional counseling, and my doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of Georgia. I have worked in numerous community-based settings, including various interdisciplinary practices, such as at the intersection of mental health with medical, educational, faith-based, and juvenile justice settings. Collectively, these experiences have taught me the importance of adopting a systemic lens, meaning a recognition and understanding of the contextual factors that may be impacting your functioning. My work focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges and optimize functioning through a variety of services, including psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and consultation. PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT I offer comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations, including global psychological and socioemotional functioning, neurodevelopmental functioning, and educational testing. This includes testing for commonly diagnosed mental health disorders, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and mood or depressive disorders, as well as learning disorders and giftedness. The process of psychological and psychoeducational testing varies across patients and presenting concerns; please contact me for more specific information, including timelines and fees. Please note, testing rates begin at $1800 for adults, and $2400 for children & adolescents. PSYCHOTHERAPY I have extensive training and experience working with people across the lifespan and with a variety of presenting concerns. I believe in the importance of a trusting therapeutic relationship wherein you feel heard and understood, and through which we can collaboratively address your presenting concerns. As a licensed psychologist with training in evaluation, I can integrate therapeutic assessment into our work together. This may include periodic symptom or behavior checklists to assess current functioning. For children and adolescents, this may also include obtaining checklists from parents, teachers, or other important figures in their lives. The use of therapeutic assessment helps us set goals and track progress, as well as to explore other factors which may be contributing to the presenting concern. CONSULTATION Similar to routine medical care and automobile maintenance, I believe in the importance of checking in with your psychological health and wellness. Consulting services tend to be shorter-term and more narrowly-focused, such as addressing a specific question or mild problem. Broad domains of consultation services may include developmental or transitional issues, such as parenting, educational, or career trajectory; however, the breadth of consulting may not fit neatly into one of these areas. Please contact me for more specific information regarding consultation. I am currently accepting new patients for psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and consultation services. Contact me at (706) 714-1943 for a 15-minute phone consultation, and to explore whether I might be a good fit for your needs.
