A Livingston Parish native, Katherine S. Arnold grew up on the outskirts of the Walker city limits. She attended Livingston Parish schools and graduated from Walker High School before attending Southeastern Louisiana University (SELU). Katherine achieved her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from SELU in 1995. Katherine worked fourteen years in the pharmaceutical industry before changing careers. Katherine achieved a Masters in Marriage and Family counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) in 2013. She also achieved additional credits at NOBTS in the Doctoral program. Katherine founded Present Hope Counseling, LLC in 2017. Katherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board approved Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and board approved Supervisor. She is a former Adjunct Professor at NOBTS. Katherine has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, veterans, and first responders. Katherine is a Certified First Responder Counselor. She has extensive experience and knowledge working with law enforcement and firemen. She has been vetted and is a referral for the State Police, Baton Rouge Police, Livingston Parish Sherriff’s Office, St. George Fire Department, Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office, Fraternal Order of Police, and Southern Law Enforcement for peer support assistance, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, psychoeducation/training, and mental health counseling. She has been trained in specialty areas such as Trauma-focused therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Brain spotting, Emotional-Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), Sand tray, Managing Suicide Risks (CAMS) and Trauma therapy. She is a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC). She holds a Certification in the Psychological Autopsy of Suicide. Other counselors on staff include Jonathan Medine, PLPC; Austin Lee, PLPC, and graduate students Marli Snaith and Kendall Robinson.
