Introduction

My name is Katie Halla, licensed therapist & owner of Point of You Counseling LLC. I currently offer virtual therapy services to those located in the state of Maryland. My passion lies in working with individuals along their journey to parenthood, whether it be trying to start their families, navigating pregnancy and/or loss, or adjusting to life postpartum. The reality is that many individuals may struggle at some point throughout their journey when building their families. I am here to support and empower you wherever you are along your journey. I have obtained my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International, and have been trained to support those who struggle with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), such as postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. In addition to perinatal mental health, my training and experience additionally extends to supporting individuals with the following challenges: generalized anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem and self-worth, poor self-image or body image, and interpersonal difficulties. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and empowering environment for my clients. I recognize that an individual’s unique experience is impacted by many internal and external factors; therefore, I aim to use a holistic approach in supporting my clients throughout their therapeutic journeys. I believe in working collaboratively as a team with my clients through utilizing a person-centered approach. I love helping clients discover and utilize their inner strengths to come to a place of self-discovery, self-compassion, and self-acceptance. Clients can expect that we will work together to navigate and address difficult experiences and emotions during sessions; however, I know therapy can be hard work. I make sure to remind clients to celebrate the wins and laugh when needed!
