Introduction

My name is Katelyn (Katie) Monday, MA, LCAS, LCMHC and I use she, her, hers pronouns. Practicing in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I offer counseling services to individuals in Boone, NC and the surrounding areas. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Addiction Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Addiction Specialist. Also, I am a national certified counselor. I have concentrated my efforts in the area of addiction counseling and mental health counseling. When appropriate I offer clients the opportunity to explore and integrate creativity, expressive arts, ecotherapy, mindfulness, and animal assisted therapy into the counseling process. I have gained skills in the area of incorporating the environment with other modules and techniques to help clients grow in wellness, connection, and happiness. My primary approach to counseling is an integration of person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapies, and motivational interviewing. I mainly focus on addictions, anxiety, and depressive disorders.
