Introduction

Hi I’m Katelyn Carr Galvin, LMFT 111653 and I approach therapy as a place where you can be seen and heard in all phases of your life. I specialize in supporting women experiencing anxiety and stress often as a result of trauma, relational wounds, and overwhelming circumstances in life. You don't have to go figure this out on your own. My approach to therapy is holistic and relational where we can collaboratively work towards your healing, discover your strengths, and instill hope. We will work towards naming what you're feeling, communicate with others in healthier ways, and find tools to deal with your anxiety and stress better. I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Restoration Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Trauma Informed approaches in our sessions, based on what fits your needs best. I work with many women who have so much on their plates, from parenting to juggling work environments and life transitions. Wearing all these hats can feel burdensome and sometimes cause you to lose connection to yourself and others. The women I work with are experiencing anxiety, stress, and feeling overwhelmed, which they notice negatively impacting their daily lives and relationships. I create an environment that is calming and safe for you to express yourself and be heard. Our time together is where you can attune to yourself in a stable and secure place. In sessions, I bring a supportive and compassionate presence that allows you to move towards healing past wounds, finding healthy ways of coping, and taking care of yourself in a loving way. I work collaboratively with you to identify and plan your goals that will help you progress towards living a life that reflects your values. I focus on giving my client tools to utilize each week so that they can work towards their goals. These tools you use to regulate yourself and cope better lead you towards peace, strength, and confidence. In our first session, you can tell me more about what you've been experiencing and why you want to start therapy. I can answer any questions you may have and learn about your potential hopes and fears about the process. We will work together towards health and wholeness by identifying what you’re feeling and what to do with those emotions. Maybe you want to know why you’re feeling so anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, depressed or having difficulties in your meaningful relationships. With our time together, we can find better ways to cope, make lasting changes, and learn how to love ourselves and those we are in relationship with. At a young age, I read a book that changed the course of my life and through that, was inspired by the healing work therapy provided for those recovering from trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues. I decided to pursue psychology in order to be a therapist so that I could walk alongside women who have experienced difficulties in their lives that prevent them from flourishing. Both personally and professionally, I've witnessed how therapy can transform people's journeys and move them towards healthy and full lives. I’m truly passionate about this work, and I am honored to support every person I spend time with.
