Introduction

Hi, my name is Kate Nichols, LCSW. I've been interested in the mental health field ever since I was a young child. I always knew I was as a helper and got involved in many community groups throughout college and high school and even remember leading special olympics groups in elementary school. I graduated with my BS in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and then received my MSW with a speciality in individual clinical practice from UCONN in CT. I then went onto get my LCSW so I can open up my own practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Connecticut as well as Florida. I've been practicing therapy in one way or another for over 24 years and find great joy in helping each and every day. I work mostly with people who have depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, caregiver burnout, self care importance, boundary work, learning healthy coping strategies, managing bipolar amongst others. I'm a big believer we all need help at different points in our lives and there should be nothing wrong with this. I often wonder why we go so quickly to our medical doctor if we have a cough or medical issue but don't for our mental health. I'm on a mission to change this and encourage everyone in need to feel comfortable enough to focus on our mental health as WE are important and deserve it! *Offering ONLY Telehealth appointments where we use a secure online video platform* *For Florida clients only- Accepting only United Healthcare/Optum and Cigna insurances at this time* *CT clients - all insurances listed below are accepted*
