I started my career after graduate school running group homes for adolescents. I also spent time working in a residential treatment program for adults with eating disorders, and also maintained a small caseload for individual psychotherapy. For the past 13 years, I have been in private practice full time providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples. I use the Internal Family Systems model. I also use the Becoming Safely Embodied skills developed by Deirdre Fay, MSW. The tools and methods that I will provide you with are tools that I have been studying and using in my practice. It is critical to feel safe in whatever environment that you chose to disclose and work with vulnerable emotional issues. I believe that you have the answers inside of you, and I provide expert guidance to help you find those answers. You are the leader of your life and of your path. I will provide you with concrete tools to manage the symptoms that are bringing you to therapy. I think that the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way, usually as protective mechanisms. I know that you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones.
