Karen Rabins is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over thirty years of experience who specializes in working with adults. She treats people struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, relationship challenges, work/life balance, burnout and compassion fatigue, and low self-esteem. She has expertise in helping people navigate life transitions, such as the birth of a child, the empty nest syndrome, career changes, and life disruptions due to death, illness, caregiving, and divorce. Karen uses a personalized, strengths-based, psychodynamic approach that incorporates positive psychology, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies to help people process their feelings and experiences. She believes that with the safety and support of a therapeutic partnership, people can access their own wisdom to respond to their challenges. Karen's philosophy: “If you’re working hard to manage feelings and circumstances you don’t like, why not use that energy to learn how to create something better for yourself.” Karen will support each person’s unique journey with respect, presence, honesty, and a little humor.
