I'm Karen F. Chase, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and certified Health & Life Coach. Having over 25 years of experience in the mental health arena, I spent the early years of my professional career working for various community mental health organizations in direct service and management. After receiving my Master's, I worked in private practice and spent almost ten years working in Hospice care, providing counseling, support, and psychoeducation to patients and families facing end-of-life. Over the years, my direction shifted from traditional psychotherapy to a more comprehensive approach. Rather than solely emphasizing mental health, the focus became the individual as a whole—mind, body, and soul. To better support my clients, I became trained and/or certified in multiple modalities including but not limited to: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), attachment patterns, Family Systems Therapy, grief and loss, abandonment, Trauma Informed Therapy, yoga, Zentangle (a meditative art form), energy work (including Reiki), coaching, breathwork, meditation, and sound healing. Ironically, I transformed my career from foundationally providing space for a peaceful death into guiding others to reclaim their healthiest, most sovereign version of themselves, in other words, teaching people how to LIVE! I am passionate about wellness and self-care. I believe that the key to unlocking our fullest, most authentic self is through empowerment practices that focus on a deeper connection to self through radical honesty and acceptance, conscious awareness, mindfulness, and excavating and dismantling patterned and habitual thoughts, emotions and behaviors. In addition to my private counseling and coaching practice, I host wellness retreats and hikes on the Appalachian Trail. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, practicing self-care rituals to enhance my maximum potential, traveling, hiking, live music, fitness, and tapping into my creative potential. I look forward to setting up our free, 15-minute phone consultation before diving into our work together! Call or text (407) 720-7610 to get started.
