Introduction

The decision to begin therapy can be a difficult. Because you are here, you've already overcome the first hurdle looking. KLC Counseling Services believe that therapy should be a collaborative and personalized experience, where each individual is met with understanding, empathy and the space to grow at their own pace. The goal is to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere that encourages self-exploration, leading to growth and positive change. Utilizing a laid-back style, the philosophy that therapy is not one-size-fits-all is embraced, and each approach should be tailored to meet the unique needs of the clients. It is through this individualized approach that clients can discover what impacts their lives, understand their emotions and ultimately develop a deeper sense of self-awareness. Meet the Owner: Born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Karen Cebula earned her B.A. in Psychology from King's College before relocating to Virginia as a military spouse. Karen later completed her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Karen is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Virginia board approved supervisor for Residents in Counseling, dedicated to providing guidance and support to those early in their counseling careers. Karen is deeply passionate about helping clients move through life's challenges and discover the strength within themselves to thrive. Before becoming a counselor, Karen spent nearly 10 years working with a non-profit organization, focusing on families and individuals at risk of homelessness and facing chronic health struggles. This work allowed Karen to help individuals gain emotional and financial stability during times of crisis and transition. As a military spouse, Karen also understood the challenges that military families face. This allowed Karen to bring a personal perspective to the practice in supporting individuals and families navigating these difficulties.
