Karen Allan is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist as well as founder and president of Crossroads Family Therapy. She has been counseling for 30 years, working with individuals, couples, families, and children. Her specialties include bipolar disorder, grief, suicide, childhood trauma, adolescent development, post traumatic stress in military veterans. As well as trauma intervention after a death in the family, the special dynamics surrounding stepfamilies, the elderly, and the specific counseling needs of pastors and missionaries, spiritual formation, and coaching professionals A global traveler, who is always looking to further understand how different cultures integrate counseling into their healing, Karen teaches graduate level counseling overseas. Karen also specializes in collaborating with physicians, psychiatrists, pastors, alternative medicine practitioners, and educational specialists to ensure that her clients' needs are diagnosed and treated in the most holistic ways possible. Karen's professional memberships include: American Psychological Association, California Association of Marriage Therapists, American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, International Board of Christian Counseling. In 2011, she was honored by the National Association of Professional Women for her professional success and named one of their Women of the Year.
