Ka'ra Johnson, LCSW-C, LCSW, LISW has over 20yrs working in the field of social work. She is licensed in Maryland (LCSW-C), Virginia (LCSW), Ohio (LISW) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She has a BSW from the University of Akron, a MS in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a MSW from Capella University. She has worked with many populations including LGBTQIA, BIPOC, homeless, adolescents, forensic, Veterans, trauma survivors, and those with persistent and severe mental illness. She has experience working in hospitals, inpatient psych, correctional facilities, community mental health facilities, schools and homes. She is trained in trauma informed CBT, REBT and Motivational Interviewing. She treats adolescents ages 13 (discretionary) and older as well as adults. She provides individual and family therapy, career coaching and professional development consultations. Her specialties are mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and crisis intervention/management. She also provides professional development coaching to mental health professionals and emerging and established social workers.
