Introduction

I have developed a strong passion for working with and supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and relationship problems. I believe that therapy is most effective when we work together as a team to treat distressing symptoms. It can be incredibly difficult to be vulnerable with a stranger. A goal of mine is to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients so they feel safe, comfortable, and supported through their journey exploring themselves. That being said, my approach to therapy is person-centered and emphasizes unconditional positive regard. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques with person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. - Actively pursuing completion of a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychological Services and a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies - Upon completion of my degree program I will be working toward licensure as a professional clinical counselor and alcohol and drug counselor in the state of MN. As a mental health therapist intern, I am currently working under the supervision of Carla McKean and Ilissa Jones.
