As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), I bring a holistic and humanistic approach to mental health and trauma counseling, focusing on the integration of mind, body, and spirit. I utilize various therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Humanistic approaches, such as Maslow's hierarchy of needs, to tailor my care to each client's unique needs. My passion lies in helping individuals, families—particularly couples—and athletes create balance in their lives. I believe that building strength within individuals fosters stronger relationships, families, and communities. Our connections to one another are the foundation of resilience and strength. I come from a multi-religious and cultural background, and as part of a Marine Corps Veteran family, I understand the complexities of both. This, along with my experience as a married father of four in a mixed-race family, has given me valuable insight into navigating diverse perspectives and cultural nuances. My professional journey includes 20+ years in corporate America as a business consultant and a lifelong involvement in athletics. I was a college and semi-pro athlete, a professional fighter, and I hold a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. I also coach at the high school level and incorporate Sports Psychology into my practice, working with athletes to strengthen their mental resilience. Despite my lifelong identity as an athlete, I also embrace my 'nerd' side. I have a deep love for playing games—whether board, card, or video—and enjoy immersing myself in science fiction and fantasy literature. These interests keep me balanced and reflect my belief in the importance of both physical and mental engagement for personal well-being. In all aspects of my practice, I focus on empowering clients to set achievable goals, build on their strengths, and become self-sufficient in managing their mental, emotional, and physical health. With my unique blend of corporate, athletic, cultural, and personal experiences, I am dedicated to helping clients achieve lasting growth and well-being, strengthening themselves, their families, and their communities.
