Hi, my name is Julia, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State. I'm so glad you're here! My work focuses on supporting adults with anxiety/depression, ADHD/executive functioning support, stress management, navigating difficult changes/transitions, and building healthy relationships with yourself and with others. I emphasize a collaborative approach in my practice: you are the expert of your own experience. I tend to bring a human approach to my work and frequently use humor in my sessions (I'm absolutely the therapist who will laugh at your jokes-- and then unpack them). I also fully endorse the concept that the therapeutic relationship itself has a great capacity for healing-- my goal is for you to always feel understood, safe, and prioritized in our work together. I tend to use a person-centered, attachment-focused, psychodynamic lens, and utilize CBT and mindfulness-centered interventions where appropriate. I am LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity affirming, intersectional feminism aligned, and racial justice allied. I completed my MA in Mental Health Counseling at Boston College, and my BS in Psychology at Northeastern University. I received clinical training at The Academy for Physical and Social Development in Newton, MA, and at the Jeremiah E. Burke public high school in Boston, MA. I have also previously worked at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care in Seattle, WA, where I treated a wide variety of demographics and diagnoses, and I have been in private practice since 2020. When I'm not in session, I'm often hanging with my two cats, Binx and Freyja, listening to podcasts or standup comedy, researching a new hobby that I'll have for a month and then lose interest in, or just spending time with friends and loved ones. My practice is 100% telehealth, as I have recently moved abroad from Seattle to Ireland (a wild ride to say the least). I am not currently paneled with any insurance, but would be more than happy to provide a monthly superbill for you to submit. Right now I am offering morning sessions (10am or earlier), so if that works with your schedule, I would love to connect! If you would like to schedule a consultation to see if we would be a good match, please send an email containing an overview of your situation and what you are looking for, contact information and times that you may be available to do a quick phone call. Please feel free to send an email if you just have questions as well! julia@juliasenftcounseling.com Julia Senft, MA, LMHC
