Introduction

Bright Awakenings Counseling provides individual and family therapy services for adolescents and adults who want to overcome past hurts to brighten their future. In life we may have experiences where we did not cope effectively and those memories remains with us. Along with those memories are negative ideas about the self and uncomfortable emotions that may cause anxiety and depression. Through the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma focused approaches, this "old stuff" can be resolved to create a healing lasting change. Julia Reed is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who strives to understand your unique story so that she may tailor a treatment plan to create the change you seek. Her primary treatment approach is EMDR and she can implement facets CBT and mindfulness based practices. Julia will also implement a spiritual component if desired to strengthen the treatment process. Julia believes that where change is wanted, it can be found. But, sometimes it is difficult to know how to move forward. Julia's role is to assist in exploring options in navigating the twists and turns of life, to uncover the why and help illuminate your own unique path.
