Joy Lawson received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and her master’s degree from Amberton University in Professional Counseling. She is licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She believes in a strong, therapeutic relationship for the foundation of successful counseling. She wants her clients to be involved and collaborative in determining their goals for counseling. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Interpersonal, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and psychoeducational approaches, she strives to meet her clients where they are and walk beside them through the challenges of life. Joy has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Inpatient Psychiatric, Outpatient PHP and IOP, Residential Treatment, and Private Practice.
