Introduction

About Findley Harris, M.S., LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with eight years of training and experience. Findley earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University (SMU). He worked in a variety of settings and with a wide range of disorders before beginning to narrow his focus on primarily treating OCD and anxiety-related disorders. Findley began his career working in crisis intervention at Adapt Community Solutions in Dallas, where he provided acute mental health crisis services in community and hospital settings. Prior to joining the team at SOAR, Findley worked in two private practice settings–Beckloff Behavioral Health Center and The Davis Counseling Center–where he gained valuable experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of different concerns and diagnoses. Findley’s experience also includes work in higher levels of care settings including Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs at Bricolage Behavioral Health. He has trained at SMU Center for Family Counseling and Adapt Community Solutions in Dallas, where he completed his internship. Clinical Approach and Expertise Findley works with children, adolescents, and adults to overcome OCD and other anxiety-related disorders such as body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), health anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and phobias. Findley is trained in the strongest evidence-based approaches to treating these conditions: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Findley has completed ERP training through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute and the Cognitive Behavior Institute. While his approach to treating OCD is grounded in ERP, he also incorporates ACT and CBT. Findley receives weekly consultations with Dr. Martinez to collaborate on cases and further develop his knowledge and skill set. Professional Leadership Findley regularly presents and international conferences like the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and presents at local conferences to spread awareness and educate other clinicians on the evidence-based treatment of OCD. Findley is a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and the DFW OCD Treatment Specialists (DOTS).
