Bodies are a miracle and a nightmare, often all at once. Your body is designed to carry you through your lifetime, adapting in pregnancy and postpartum, through illness and injury, and through the aging process. While you may be able to appreciate how wildly capable and adaptable your body can be, it can be hard to remember that when it no longer feels like home anymore. What happens then when you are also navigating these changes while the rest of your life continues on? In the midst of being a dedicated partner, loving parent, exemplary employee, helpful child to aging parents, and sassy best friend, where do you find the time or energy to take care of yourself in the most basic of ways? In working together, my goal is to help you learn new tools for establishing stronger boundaries, tending to your needs and wants, and allowing yourself to take up as much space in the world as you need. After all, taking care of yourself first means you can take care of the people you love the most in better ways. About My Work & Process I specialize in providing therapy for women navigating intimate and personal life transitions while still managing the demands of a full, busy life. Transitions include: -- Pregnancy, Postpartum, and New Parenthood -- Hormonal & Health-Related Challenges -- Chronic Illness & Disability -- Becoming a Caregiver To a Disabled or Aging Loved One In our work together, you're going to see a lot of my personality and I hope to see a lot of yours. I believe in being human, relatable, and authentic because you are putting your trust in me to see you as a whole, complex, complicated person. About Me As a medical social worker by training, my clinical experiences have included working in hospice, physical rehabilitation hospitals, in-patient acute mental health and substance abuse facilities, and geriatric primary care offices. Prior to starting my own private practice, I worked as a therapist within Medical University of South Carolina's Women's Reproductive Behavioral Health Division working primarily with pregnant and postpartum women. These diverse experiences allow me to bring together solutions-based problem solving and compassionate, empathetic emotional support into one holistic therapeutic perspective. Together, it is my hope that we can build resiliency, confidence, and capability as you navigate the changes that come with life, health, and changing bodies. Education: Masters in Social Work from Florida State University Licensure: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LISW-CP) - South Carolina & Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Florida
