Introduction

HOPE CAN BE HARD TO COME BY IN TIMES OF DAILY STRUGGLES AND DISTRESS. But it’s also what keeps us walking down the hallways of life toward healing and relief. My goal has always been to help others find hope for their future. Hope when life brings challenges, hope despite the past, hope in the present, and hope for what’s to come. I believe every person has the ability to overcome and heal with even the smallest spark of hope. I have spent much of my career helping others develop skills to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as working through couple and family relationship issues. Actively providing therapy for adults, children, couples, and families since 2013, I have my MA in Marriage and Family Counseling from Adler University (Chicago). I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist in the state of Iowa (License # 072141). I am a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). My professional orientation to therapy involves family-systems, trauma-informed care, emotionally-focused, and attachment-based approaches. I am an EMDR-Trained therapist (EMDR Consulting). Finding the right therapist is integral to starting therapy services and not a choice to be taken lightly. Feel free to reach out with questions or for more information. Stress impacts us all and oftentimes impacts our relationships, family life, school, work, or simply our overall quality of life. If you are experiencing stress from life’s challenges or have experienced adversity in your life that is impacting your current quality of life, please contact Driftwood Family Therapy. INDIVIDUAL THERAPY Each individual is unique, having their own strengths, history, struggles, and goals. It is my goal to create a safe space so clients can feel free to explore who they are, what their true goals are, and address areas of growth. Ages: —Preteens/Tweens (11 to 13) —Adolescents/Teenagers (14 to 18) —Adults (18+) COUPLES THERAPY Any relationship between two people takes work, no matter the kind of relationship. Relationships need trust and commitment to survive as the relationship evolves over time. Couples therapy helps partners identify and navigate barriers to a happy relationship and implement skills to resolve issues. Whether a couple wants to discover ways to connect on a deeper level or determine if the relationship is working, honest exploration together can help find answers. FAMILY THERAPY Family is an integral part of society and culture, often providing a base of stability in life. Family therapy gives all members a voice to express their concerns and needs and find ways to effectively show care and support for each other. EMDR We can all have experiences that seem to stick around and even haunt us, popping up unannounced, contributing to unwanted behaviors, and whispering negativity into our ears. EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a mental health treatment approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the resolution of mental health symptoms from adverse life experiences. STRESS/LIFE TRANSITIONS We all face stress in life that does not require mental health services. However, when life seems to toss us many changes at one time or challenges that are unfamiliar, therapy can provide needed relief from stress and assist with determining how to overcome it while discovering your strengths and talents along the way. TRAUMA-INFORMED While life can bring us much joy and satisfaction, it can also come with stressful traumas that leave a lasting mark on us, disrupting how we would like to live out our lives. What makes an experience traumatic is unique to each person, but trauma does not discriminate with its impact. Therefore, it is important to develop tools and skills to alleviate the ongoing impact trauma can have on our lives. RATES AND PAYMENT I accept self-pay clients and some insurances. Please contact me to discuss my rates. All payments are collected the day of each therapy session. Credit cards, cash, and checks are accepted forms of payment.
