Jordan Mickens is a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical for the State of Maryland. He received his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Jordan has extensive experience working with young adults and individuals with challenges relating to family trauma, anxiety, anger-management, and independent living skills. He also has a joy for facilitating groups around physical health, men's groups, and unpacking current events. Jordan utilizes a solution-based approach, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and trust-based relational interventions. Jordan believes a clinician's role is to serve people and to do so in a capacity that acknowledges and respects the unique individual -- who the person is and wants to be. For him, the role is based on this desire and his faith-based background. Jordan's view is that therapy is a collaborative, insightful, and often challenging process. His philosophy is that sessions should be an opportunity to provide perspective and empowerment. However, choosing to be a decisive element in one's own life is commendable and worthy of praise. He looks forward to working with each person and being a dedicated partner in growth.
