I believe the best healing happens when therapy involves compassionate, deep self-reflection and honest, real conversations in a safe environment. I work with individuals and couples to heal from difficult past experiences and current conflicts toward brighter futures, stronger relationships, and a more secure sense of self. Healing also often involves understanding the impact of trauma, whether the trauma of abuse, discrimination and prejudice, or other experiences. In addition to specializing in couples counseling, I also have a background working with survivors of unwanted/abusive sexual experiences, people with racial/ethnic minority identities, and Spanish speakers. I primarily use emotionally focused therapy, although I also use principles from narrative therapy, sex therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy models.
