Dr. Weingarden is licensed psychologist with several areas of experience including Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment and Self-Exploration, Bipolar Disorder, and Eating Disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Additionally, Dr. Weingarden offers life coaching. He completed his pre-Doctoral internship at Carnegie Mellon University's (CMU) Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), where he received training in Psychodynamic and Interpersonal Dynamic Therapy. At UPMC, Dr. Weingarden worked in Bipolar Disorder research and treatment for several years, and then as a Senior Program Director on the Adult Aging and Center for Eating Disorder programs. He develop Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), CBT-E and CBT-AR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT and RO DBT), and Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) treatments for patients. Dr. Weingarden has supervised training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Therapy. Additionally, he has training in CBT-E, enhanced for Eating Disorders. He has a strong belief in understanding the patient as person first, which directs his approach to therapy.
