Hello, my name is Jonathan Gears. I specialize in working with teenagers and adults (age 15+) who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Our minds often cause unnecessary suffering through worry, rumination, people pleasing, panic, anger, angst, resentment, excessive busyness, hopelessness, or even numbness or avoidance (to name a few). Therapy is a an opportunity to gain awareness of the painful experiences that led our minds to this “suffering” pattern. Additionally, therapy allows us to tap into a greater sense of self, that when embraced and trusted fully, can heal and transcend the “suffering”, bringing about life with a greater sense of connection to self, others, and overall sense of purpose. It is the honor of a lifetime to be a part of this process! Outside of therapy I enjoy flannel shirts, reading, coffee shops, and slow mornings with my wife and daughter. I especially enjoy long distance running (marathons and trail runs), cycling, backpacking, and hiking… you know all the basic Colorado stuff! I particularly enjoy slowing down and finding beauty in the small, often overlooked parts of life, things like beautiful music, enriching conversations, and energizing beverages! If you'd like to learn more about me or my views on counseling take a look at my social media accounts (icon at the bottom of the page). Take the first step in your therapy journey by requesting a free consultation online or reach out to me via email, phone call, or text. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
