Dr. DeRight performs neuropsychological evaluations in several contexts. These include evaluations for clinical diagnosis, independent medical evaluations, fitness for duty, competency to stand trial, preemployment psychological evaluations, and learning disability evaluations. While referral questions widely vary, patients often present following specific incidents such as brain injuries or stroke or noticing new or worsening symptoms that may be related to dementia, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and many others. Dr. DeRight earned his bachelor's degree in neuroscience from the University of Rochester and his master's and PhD degrees in clinical psychology from Syracuse University. He completed his residency in clinical neuropsychology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. DeRight is board certified in clinical neuropsychology and is licensed in Virginia, DC, and Maryland. He is also an authorized provider in the PSYPACT alliance.
