I received my Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in New York, NY and my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Community Action and Social Change. I’ve been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy by Behavioral Tech, Motivational Interviewing by the Training and Practice Implementation Institute, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy by the EMDR Institute. Notably, I studied abroad at the University of Cape Town with a focus in Critical Psychology. I specialize in working with individuals ranging from fourteen years old to fifty years old with co-occurring substance abuse issues and/or borderline personality, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, suicidal ideation as well as experience with eating disorders, obsessions and compulsions, and autism. I hold licensure and service clients remotely in New York (094031), Colorado (CSW.09930778), and California (LCSW120285) and in person in San Diego. With a recent move from NYC to San Diego, I enjoy taking walks and runs along the ocean, making my family jealous with pictures of the sunset, trying new restaurants, reading, mindful cooking, and planning trips around the world with my husband. I spend quality time with my nephews and niece whenever I can and love rainy days and sunny days just the same. ______ Before opening my private practice in summer 2024, I spent two years working at a group private practice, Behavioral Psych Studio, specializing in evidence-based care with the primary modality of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I worked at the individual and group level to help clients increase skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I also utilized EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) within individual therapy. Prior to, I was a DBT therapist for three years at Freedom Institute, a non-profit substance abuse outpatient program, where I taught the DBT skills in the Intensive Outpatient Program, facilitated an Advanced DBT Practice group, and combined behavioral approaches with psychodynamic therapy in individual therapy. Additionally, I interned at a substance abuse residential treatment facility called Silver Hill Hospital where I ran DBT skills groups and process groups for adults and adolescents. I was trained and supervised by the Director of Group Therapy, where I learned the techniques for creating a safe and supportive environment in group work.
