Introduction

I have a lifelong passion for serving others. I lived this out first in my Navy career as a Spanish Translator and technical trainer. Now my passion is channeled toward walking with individuals, couples, and families through their journeys of recovery for anything from depression, anxiety, alcohol problems, betrayal trauma, and beyond. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I’m trained in systemic therapy, which examines how the different circles (family, friends, work, faith community, city) in your life are contributing to your overall health. My training has provided me with the uniquely blended skillset to provide highly effective evidence-based mental health treatments and, upon request, integrate these with the faith and spiritual resources of my clients. Life can be difficult to navigate. It takes a great deal of personal strength and commitment to handle all of the different occurrences that you experience each day. Add to that a personal or relational problem and you have the formula for pain and suffering. You aren’t meant to navigate all those struggles alone; often what it takes to get through a hard time in life is to lean on someone who can provide a listening ear and offer constructive wisdom from an outside perspective. That’s where I come in. I want to help you explore how to process and overcome whatever it is that you’re struggling with in your stage of life. While it is my joy to serve and work with individuals, couples, and families alike, I am especially trained in helping couples and families thrive. Regarding couples therapy, I love to offer pre-marital or pre-engagement counseling and I am certified in the Prepare/Enrich relationship assessment tool. I also enjoy working with adolescents, whether it be working through parent-child relationship dynamics or other issues related to their stage of life. My overall approach is integrative and some modalities I utilize are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman, and Transgenerational Family Systems theory.
