I believe that being seen, understood and valued within the context of an authentic relationship creates the opportunity for intuition, inspiration, and growth. With compassionate curiosity and clinical skill, I collaborate with clients in a direct and interactive way so they can make the changes that will enhance their lives. Sometimes the work only takes a few sessions, as clients are able to gain the tools or insights they need to find their bearings and reach their goals. Some clients require longer term care, to understand their inner world, process past traumas, or explore how their family or environment has shaped them. By drawing on my training in multiple therapeutic approaches I am able to address the unique needs of each person. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington and specialize in working with adults with anxiety (panic, social anxiety and chronic worry), depression, trauma (PTSD and complex trauma), and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I see adults and couples of all genders and backgrounds. I received a master's in social work from Smith College School for Social Work in 1998. I am certified in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and have completed training in exposure and response prevention at the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (International OCD Foundation). My past experience includes work as a mental health clinician at Harborview Medical Center, Group Health Cooperative (now Kaiser Permanente) and Pacific Medical Center.
