Joanna is a Native American (Hopi, Dine, Kewa Pueblo), queer womxn of color closely attuned to the intersectionality of her existence which allows her firsthand experience to the unique intricacies of a person. Joanna describes her culture as being rooted in community, social justice, protection of the Earth, shared learning, and the consideration of how one’s actions impact the next seven generations. Joanna has been in the field since 2011, she interacts with a Person-Centered approach and modality to support, guide and assist clients in a culturally sensitive way and believes people are the experts on themselves. Joanna's therapeutic style is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a Systems Approach and Mindfulness, with a focus on better understanding the origins of one's thoughts and behaviors and how those impact one's past, present, and future.
