My name is Jim Porter and I'm a Psychotherapist based in the Seattle area. I earned my MA in Psychology for Seattle U in 2005 and have been working in the counseling field ever since. My approach to therapy is relational with an emphasis on the creation of a safe setting where you will be heard well enough that you begin to hear your own voice in a new way. Therapy can be a partnership where you can examine the issues and distress that brought you here in the present as well as possible contributing past events and ideas, all with an eye on what you want your future to look and feel like. My goal is to help you identify what is most important to you, organize and tolerate any feelings that might arise and help you move toward being your most authentic self.
