As early as I can remember, compassion has run deep within me. My own personal experiences, trauma, and mental health journey taught me that therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. Seeking therapy can be overwhelming, yet it can also bring a huge sense of relief. It takes courage. It’s important to feel heard and connected to your therapist. Therapy can be tailored to your individual needs and experiences. If words alone can’t fully capture a feeling or experience, we can be creative in incorporating other approaches within my training to better assist you. Therapy is a collaborative, holistic healing process. My hope is to make therapy feel comfortable so my clients can explore the complexities of their everyday lives, and be empowered to make positive changes. A passion for helping others led me to the social work field. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work prior to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri. Throughout my professional career I have received advanced training in multiple trauma-focused treatment approaches such as PCIT and EMDR therapy. I work mostly with adults and adolescents who have experienced trauma, challenging transitions, or overwhelming stress. I have a strong connection with the unique dynamics and challenges of adoptive families (or families providing foster care). Whether you were adopted as a child or are struggling as a caregiver, I would consider it a privilege to help navigate symptoms stemming from attachment-related issues. I also offer an approach called Geek Therapy-for those who would like their special interests incorporated into sessions, there is a way to provide therapy from a geeky fandom approach. Whether it be RPG, board games, video games, or just incorporating your fandoms in other ways, there is an evidence-based way to do so and I love to be able to provide that when fitting for the client! **Check out our website: FeelAndFlourishCounseling.com for more info on me, our practice, and session availability.**
