Jiahui "Kory" Li is the owner of Light in Dark Counseling, LLC. Growth is a story we write to reclaim ourselves as better souls via healing. Throughout our journey, we may have been to dark places and felt trapped, but we are still autonomous human beings that need places where we feel a sense of belonging to relieve, to rest, to embrace, to heal. Taking an existential person-centered approach, Kory believes in meaning making, hope installation, radical awareness, and purpose recreation. She primarily focuses on self-empowerment and motivational change to help her clients make progress toward their full potential, providing a safe space for growth while necessarily using clinical interventions, such as CBT, DBT, IFS, narrative-based therapy, attachment theory, existential humanism, motivational interviewing, etc. Kory gained her Bachelor's in Psychology at University of Minnesota with a minor in Art, and graduated with her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Denver. She has worked extensively with diverse population among all age groups in various settings. Her clinical work specializes in disability, addiction, relational difficulties, anger issues, behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Born in China, Kory incorporates a bilingual multicultural lens to further develop her professional work and personal resilience, for the sake of her clients' wellbeing. While continuing her training in trauma work and couples work, she is currently open to treat individual clients from 18+ age groups, especially BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and immigrants.
