Jessie Omer is a professional therapist pursuing full licensure in the Nashville area. Jessie began her career at The University of Tennessee where she majored in Child and Family Studies and minored in Psychology. Upon graduating, Jessie moved back to Nashville to begin graduate school for her Master’s in Human Developmental Counseling at Vanderbilt University. While in graduate school, Jessie earned her internship hours at Daystar Counseling Ministries where she worked with ages 5 to 17 and co-facilitated group counseling sessions. Jessie has a passion for counseling a variety of ages including children, adolescents and adults. While she has experience working with various presenting concerns, her specialties include anxiety, stress management, behavioral concerns, parent/child relational issues, parenting, anger management, social skills, and life adjustments/transitions such as coming of age, divorce, going to college, or moving schools. Jessie practices therapy from a client-centered approach while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and techniques of Play Therapy to provide treatment. The utilization of these techniques allows for a blend of flexibility and structure in therapy while meeting the unique needs of each individual that she works with. “I value the importance of the therapeutic relationship more than any other aspect of therapy and believe that to be the beginning of all healing. When your child or adolescent feels trust and safety they are more open to vulnerability and growth. I would consider it both an honor and privilege to walk alongside you and your child as you navigate this chapter of your lives.” In her free time, Jessie enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, reading a good book, or trying new restaurants around Nashville. She can often be found outside with her dog, Fury. She also enjoys exercising and playing pickleball. Jessie is currently fulfilling the Tennessee licensure requirement of post-masters supervision and is receiving supervision from Dr. Kristi Marshall, an approved supervisor by the state of Tennessee.
