Are you suffering from energy loss? Struggling to understand your triggers? Fighting to keep your head above water? Find discomfort in the many roles you play? Finding that you struggle in public situations? Trying to find your place in society during the major shifts and stressors? Do you have behaviors or thoughts you want to deal with, but nothing seems to help? Need help understanding your sexuality or gender identity? Looking for a therapist who can walk with you on a trail or be outside to hold a session? Hey! My name is Jessie Cockerham, LCSW and I may be able to help. I have been a social worker for the past 7 years, where I have worked with teenagers, young adults, adults, and with those coming to end of life. I have been a mental health practitioner for over a year. I have been trained in DBT, EMDR, and Ecotherapy. In my year I have worked with those who are chronically suicidal, those with chronic pain, people with anxiety and depression, people who struggle with all grades of trauma, those struggling with mood disorders, those struggling with dissociation, and those who have depression and anxiety. I see the therapeutic process as an engagement between two people, where a relationship is built. In that relationship we work together to solves life's curve balls. Whether that be life transitions, death of a loved one, or stressful life events that are hard to handle alone. People tend to seek me out for struggles in understanding trauma and how it affects them. When it comes to trauma I specialize in sexual and religious trauma, however no stressful event is something we cannot tackle together. I strive to create a decolonized and safe environment for people who deal with oppression, microaggressions, or feel marginalized by society.
