Introduction

My name is Jessica White, and I am a trauma therapist, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. I provide in-person and telehealth services in Florida and telehealth-only in Pennsylvania. I have over 10 years of experience as a therapist, and I have advanced trainings in EMDR and somatic psychotherapy. I’m currently working towards my EMDR certification. I specialize in women’s issues, anxiety, trauma, complex PTSD, highly sensitive people, and therapy for therapists and other health care professionals. I show up as a human first, and a therapist second. I don’t pathologize the ways we’ve learned to cope and survive, and I strongly believe that much of what ails us in the modern world is due to learned societal “norms” that aren’t healthy and aren’t in the best interest of regular folks. We are taught to believe we can’t trust ourselves, we can’t trust our bodies, and we learn we must hide certain parts of our essential selves to be accepted and deemed worthy. I believe much of what ails us stems from this profound disconnection- a disconnection from ourselves, our bodies and the world around us. My goal is to support the people I work with to reclaim trust and connection with themselves on their terms, at their pace. I use techniques from somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, and mindfulness. I strongly believe in the mind-body connection being integral to healing and I explore ways to bring the nervous system back into balance. These techniques help to heal trauma, restore trust, and expand capacity for resiliency and personal growth.
