Introduction

Jessica is a Curandera in the Latin American tradition, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in Nebraska and Credentialed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRADC/CADC) credentials in Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, and Vermont. She utilizes holistic, alternative, integrated practices that are called Creative Healing Journey's. They consist of expressive arts making, gentle, adaptive movement, guided imagery or hypnotherapy, mindfulness, HeartMath HVR (Heart Rate Variability), herbal remedies and different methods of sound therapy to assist in self healing, nervous system regulation and changes and recovery from trauma, grief and addictions. With a rich academic background, including a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Counseling-Psychology, and ongoing training in alternative healing methods for mind-body-spirit. She brings over 35 years of experience in education and human services to her telehealth-based practice. Jessica specializes in substance use recovery, trauma and PTSD recovery, end-of-life and grief support, plant medicine integration processing sessions, stress and anxiety management, spiritual counseling, and various therapeutic modalities including MCBT,DBT, MBSR, ACT, and Transpersonal psychology. She offers a sliding scale for fees, making her services accessible to those with qualifying incomes. Insurance is not accepted. Supplement recommendations through FullScript. Personalized Bach Flower Remedy (flower essences for mood), plant medicine (herbs) and supplement support. Sessions can be remote, via tele-health from anywhere in the U.S. with substance abuse counseling available in licensed or credentialed states (NE, CO, MO, VT). In Person sessions are offered on Tuesdays in Kansas City North. Sessions are ideal for complimentary and alternative healing for chronic pain, emotional issues, self regulation, stress release, substance abuse withdrawal, recovery and cravings, chronic disease support, palliative care support, end of life preparation, phenomenological expression and connection, self discovery and reclaiming the Self from trauma. ------------------------------------------------------------- End of Life, Palliative Care and Grief Integration Through a Compassionate, Spiritual and Artistic Lens An End-of-Life Doula provides non-medical, non-judgmental support, with a family-centered approach to holistic & empowering care, while also being a part of your end-of-life team. I provide a calming & nurturing presence, emotional support, education & information, proactive guidance, community resources & referrals, comfort measures & logistical support to both the dying & their loved ones. I offer individualized and intersectional nonmedical emotional, spiritual, and informational support to those who are dying and their loved ones. I have been trained by the Susan O’Brien, RN, former Hospice Nurse and Coordinator, Barbara Karnes and am identified as NEDA Proficient to be a compassionate companion who can hold space for the sacred at the end of life. My advanced grief counseling, expressive arts, and experience as a licensed and credentialed counselor helps me tend to you and you dying loved one. I believe we can create more love & meaning & empowerment during the completely natural dying process or in assistance with hospice care.
