Introduction

As a NYC South Bronx native, my commitment to advocating for and supporting the well-being of underserved groups stems from my roots. The BIPOC community too often faces disparities within our healthcare system and I am committed to providing quality care to survivors of trauma, racism-based traumatic stress, those seeking to change generational patterns, and those seeking self-awareness into their behavior patterns to enact lasting change. My journey into the helping professions began decades ago as a NYC educator, where I supported adolescents with emotional regulation and crisis support while providing gender affirming and safe spaces for queer students. As an empty-nester mother of adult sons, it was and has been rewarding to also support parents and guardians with their own stress management and ways to authentically integrate responsive parenting despite having grown up in reactive environments. In addition to the professional experiences already mentioned, a major portion of my caseload has become fellow neuro-divergent humans with either ADHD (like myself) or ADHD and Autism, who are exploring the evaluation process and learning to move forward with self-compassion and strategies to support their needs as best as possible. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative of different interventions with a focus on psycho-dynamic therapy to explore the impact of past experiences and unconscious patterns on present day functioning. I believe in moving at your pace, while also recognizing that growth and change can be uncomfortable and requires a willingness to engage in gentle challenges. Therapy isn’t just what happens in our sessions—it’s an ongoing process that involves actively applying insights and strategies in daily life. Whether the next steps of beginning therapy sound exciting or daunting to you, let's begin with a brief consultation to gauge if I am a good fit for your goals.
