Introduction

Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with diagnostic privileges and nearly 15 years of clinical rigor. Specializing in sexual assault, sexual abuse, and any adult with anxiety or depression. My private psychotherapy practice in the Flatiron and NoMad district (and zoom) specializes in working with survivors of sexual assault and coercive control. Though I enjoy working with any adult struggling with depression or anxiety, I am focused on decolonizing the therapeutic experience and decolonizing healthcare delivery at large. I acknowledge the impact of both mine and the client’s cultural identities in our work. Embodiment Expert: We know that trauma is stored in the body, and I specialize in ‘bodywork’ that invites the mind back to the body and addresses dissociation. Inspired by my personal success with such therapies as a gender-based violence survivor, I am focused on the ethical branding and research of somatic interventions, utilizing participatory research techniques that are survivor-designed. As a scholar-practitioner, I am working on ethically branding the field of somatic therapy by collecting quantitative data to answer difficult questions and develop evidence-based practices.
