Most people I work with come to me when they've hit a wall - they may feel stuck, overwhelmed or are struggling with relationships, self-care or work. Whether emotional distress has been brought on by a recent life change or if mental health issues have existed in the background for many years, even since childhood, I work with my clients on gaining insight and developing tools to better cope and change the narrative. While many people I see are struggle with depression, anxiety or life transitions my specialty is helping those with a history of trauma. Their symptoms may stem from a variety of adverse life experiences, such as witnessing violence growing up, struggling with unresolved grief, trying to unlearn relational abuse/gaslighting, to list only a few. By using an eclectic approach that combines a bit of dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing & compassion-focused care, I assist clients with not only processing the emotional parts of their suffering but on developing healthy ways to cope with emotional distress as well. My goal is create a space where my clients feel accepted, understood and supported at whatever point they are at on their life's journey.
