Introduction

Jessica Ivener is a dedicated professional with over nine years of experience in the field of Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health treatment. Ms. Ivener’s academic background is completion of the Addiction Studies program at Pierce College leading her to become a Licensed Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor . Ms. Ivener continued with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, a master’s degree in Criminology, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Jessica has had experiencing working in detox facilities, residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs, case management, and facilitating family support groups. Jessica’s theoretical orientation is humanistic existential, with an understanding that unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and empathy are needed to facilitate change. Jessica strongly believes that everyone has the potential to maintain healthy, meaningful relationships and that everyone has the capacity to self-actualize and increase their self-awareness. In her personal life Ms. Ivener has experienced living in a family system that was held hostage by alcoholism and has worked hard to help support family members who have had similar experiences. On her free time Jessica enjoys spending time with her many pets, going on bicycle rides with her dogs, and traveling with friends. Jessica continues to cultivate her professional and personal life while holding space to walk with others through their process of self-discovery.
