Dr. Herbold conducts neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents, provides play therapy to children, and works with teens and families in psychotherapy. Her approach emphasizes collaborative relationships with parents, teachers, and other involved professionals, and is informed by the unique context of each child and family. Dr. Herbold was Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco, where she taught principles and methods of psychological assessment, supervised interns and fellows, and provided consultation to neonatologists and pediatricians. She has served as faculty and clinical supervisor at a number of Bay Area training programs. Dr. Herbold views assessment and psychotherapy as having the potential to empower children and parents with enhanced self-understanding, and as strengthening their ability to make meaningful and effective choices.
