Introduction

Welcome to Engage ! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I tend to use the terms therapist or counselor interchangeably to describe what I do . I completed Graduate school at the University of Missouri in 2014 and was licensed in 2018. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you. Overcoming life's challenges shouldn't be the journey of one. Support and guidance are the foundation to healing. I seek to partner with you in addressing concerns that you identify. That's the Engage part, we do it together. Together we seek solutions to life's stressors--past, present and future. The ultimate goal is for you to experience your best life . CHILDREN'S THERAPY SERVICES Services for school age children address emotional and behavioral regulation. Therapy for children consists of a prescriptive play therapy blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT) techniques with play. Play interventions can be therapist directed or child directed, depending on the guidance of the treatment plan. In addition, EMDR coupled with play therapy is available for children who have experienced trauma. TEEN THERAPY SERVICES Work with teens addresses emotional regulation as well as interpersonal relationships. At this developmental stage, we begin to examine how value systems guide behaviors and emotions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills are introduced .Expressive arts techniques of Movement, music, Art, Poetry and Story telling are woven into sessions. EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING ( EMDR) I have an affinity for the healing process and am honored to walk beside you in this journey of self discovery. I am trained in the 8 phases of EMDR and have additional training to support working with complex trauma. DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT) I offer adherent Dialectical Behavior therapy that supports all components of DBT ( individual, group , coaching and consult team participation). I provide skills instruction on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I am a member of DBT Columbia, which includes access to Virtual DBT skills group . For more information please visit : www.dbtcolumbia.com.
