Introduction

Many of my clients have experienced a traumatic event(s) such as sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, or neglect. The last ones can be harder to define because invalidation is a common form of emotional neglect that is hard to label. Despite what the trauma is or if it falls into one of those categories exactly, if it affects you, then it matters. Clients come to me with confusion and emotional pain that I help them sift through and connect with in order to heal and return to their new normal version of life. I welcome all clients from all walks of life, spiritual views, races, cultures, genders, orientations, and preferences. With 10+ years of Spanish language education and experience, I am also comfortable to counsel bilingual clients who may prefer to change between Spanish and English. As a trained yoga instructor, I also am able to implement trauma informed yoga practices, mindfulness, and meditation if that is a fit for you. We will explore together how you meet your basic needs in relation to your counseling goals. I utilize a variety of techniques to help you meet these goals. Sometimes we may focus on skills building; other times we may focus on trauma processing using various interventions based on my training. I individualize your treatment plan to be realistic and attainable. Life is a journey that unfortunately comes with no handbook. Walking along that journey with you for a short time is a gift that I graciously accept knowing that you will one day not need me. That fact brings me joy and indicates that I have fulfilled my role in your journey. You may not have been in control of your past experiences, but you can overcome your suffering to control your future. I will work hard to help you regain control of your life again and live your life as you want it to be. I offer individual counseling services (55 minutes) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Groups (90 minutes). For individual counseling, I will work to find what approach is best suited for you specifically. I am trained and proficient in EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma processing approaches. DBT Groups are done in 6 session modules. Each module is $150 prepaid for all 6 sessions ($25/session) and there are 6 total modules that can be taken in any order. If I am not taking new clients, I encourage you to ask my office manager about other referral options via the phone number provided. You also may contact me if I am full, but you'd like to wait to see me and I can put you on a waiting list. "If you don't have mud, the lotus won't manifest. You can't grow lotus flowers on marble.
