I consider myself to be a straight-forward, pragmatic therapist who treats clients as equals. My goal is to listen to the needs and challenges expressed by each client with compassion so that I can provide the support and acceptance to help them facilitate the desired change. My clinical interests include treating anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, behavioral disorders, and neurodiverse conditions (ADHD). I also enjoy working with parents and families to equip them with resources and skills that allow them to feel empowered. When working with clients, I take into consideration individual circumstances and values. I will work collaboratively with clients to define goals that can bring meaningful change and improve areas of functioning. I believe everyone has strengths and will focus on using the client’s identified strengths to their benefit during the process. During treatment, I pull from evidenced-based treatment models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and motivational enhancement therapy. I use an integrated approach to provide treatment that is both efficient and cost-effective. I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University in clinical addictions counseling and a post-graduate certificate in clinical mental health. I am fully licensed in the State of Indiana and have practiced in a variety of settings including community mental health, school-based, recovery, prisons, and private practice. I have experience working with individuals from multiple different cultural backgrounds. I specialize in treating behavior disorders and ADHD. In addition, I provide parent skills training and support. In my personal life, I enjoy travel, painting, and spending time with my family (including my three ill-mannered dogs). I offer personal life coaching and consultation. I also offer clinical assessment with diagnosis for children who need additional academic accommodations. I provide parents with guidance on seeking resources, making requests for accommodations, and documentation they can supply to their child’s school for individual education plans (IEPs) and 504s. Whether a client wishes to improve relationships, manage anxiety, learn effective parenting strategies, or just be heard, I look forward to creating an alliance that nurtures their ability to live their best life!
