My philosophy of health and wellness is the culmination of academic, professional and personal experience within the mental health and medical systems. While the specific goals and needs of each client differ, I believe the primary goal of psychotherapy is to develop a deeper understanding and acceptance of oneself by identifying and working through deeply ingrained patterns, beliefs and assumptions that hinder emotional health. I work primarily from a contemporary psychodynamic approach while integrating attachment therapy, harm reduction, cognitive-behavioral techniques and internal family systems work. My practice is informed by an intersectional, cultural perspective, is trauma-informed and incorporates mindfulness practices. I continually study evolutionary psychology, attachment theory, neuroscience, Eastern wellness and functional medicine.
