I believe healing is an unbecoming, a process of letting go of anything that doesn’t belong to you. This may include burdens from traumas or legacies, belief systems that no longer serve you, or ways of being prescribed by larger systems. It’s possible to come home to yourself so that you can stand securely and peacefully amid whatever is swirling around you. I’m an IFS (Internal Family Systems) Practitioner, trained through the IFS-Institute. This transformative, evidence-based psychotherapy helps people heal by accessing and loving the protective and wounded inner parts that have been forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Our core Self is incorruptibly good and knows how to heal. It may be hard to see sometimes, but Self is always there, just like the sun. Because of my background in teaching yoga, I’m passionate about the mind body connection. I’ve vigilantly watched thousands of bodies move in studios, gyms, roof top bars, and a juvenile detention center and I know two things to be true: we cannot hide our emotional state from our body and not every body needs the same medicine.
