Compassion, kindness, empathy, connection, and humility are the values I practice by. Using a trauma-focused lens, I provide integrated therapeutic modalities to best serve the unique needs of each individual. Using a strengths-based approach, I integrate Gestalt therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to tailor treatment to account for the different needs and unique circumstances for each person. My integrated approach helps facilitate growth, accountability, resiliency, and compassion for self and others. With my focus geared toward the person in their environment, I appreciate learning how environment impacts each person, so they may build a toolbox to help them cope and navigate their everyday lives. Through understanding similarities and celebrating differences, I foster safety in my therapeutic relationships and celebrate our innate ability to connect through vulnerabilities. In my commitment to help serve and support people, I have worked in capacities including public child welfare, treatment centers addressing dual diagnosis and cooccurring disorders, substance use treatment, and public school-based counseling. I work with people displaying symptoms related to substance use/addiction (SUD/SID), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. While diagnosis can be a helpful way to understand the symptoms someone is experiencing, the stigma regarding mental health impacts how we live our life. Using my approach, I find that deconstructing social constructs related to mental health and substance use is a key aspect to better understanding and building a relationship with the parts of us, doing the best they can, to adapt to your way of life.
